My Esteemed Colleagues, Distinguished Guests, and Partners,

It is with immense pride and profound gratitude that I stand before you today to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI). This momentous milestone is a testament to the unwavering dedication, innovation, and resilience that have defined our institution’s century-long journey.

Since its establishment in 1924, EPHI has been the cornerstone of public health research, service delivery, and transformation in Ethiopia. Our Institute has been at the forefront of groundbreaking epidemiological studies, pioneering community health interventions, and spearheading initiatives that have improved the lives of millions of our citizens.

As we reflect on this auspicious occasion, I am humbled by the remarkable achievements of the countless individuals who have walked these halls, contributed their expertise, and poured their hearts into the betterment of our nation’s health. It is through their tireless efforts, the steadfast support of our esteemed partners, and the resilience of the communities we serve that EPHI has risen to become a beacon of excellence in the realm of public health.

Today, we stand on the shoulders of giants, inspired by the legacy that has been entrusted to us. Yet, we are not content to merely bask in the glow of our past accomplishments. Instead, we look towards the future with a steadfast determination to build upon the foundations we have laid, to confront emerging health challenges, and to forge new frontiers of innovation and discovery.
